The cave is 27 metres deep and forks into two branches, each 150 metres long,  which you access via a boardwalk of  30 steps and a further 26 stone steps on a steep pathway. You receive a helmet, map and torch for your underground adventure

See shawls, stalagmites, curtains, spires, spikes, flowstones and other spectacular cave decorations by torchlight and unguided. Experience the total darkness and deep silence down in the depths of the cave, except for the delicate sound of the water drops landing on the lake!

Calgardup Cave has a seasonal underground lake  The DEC say: "The lake at the bottom of the right hand section displays magical reflections of the stalactites suspended above, giving the illusion of great depth in the water (which is actually only a few centimetres deep!). The water in the lake is a deep tea colour due to tannins picked up on the surface from vegetation."

Opens daily except Dec 25 and 26.
Suitable for all ages.
Torches and helmets are included with the entry fee.

Facilities Include:

The National Park Information Centre based at the cave has a great information on camping, cultural and historical heritage sites, maps and other activities. There is a picnic table near the information centre to enjoy and a toilet.
